Don’t Launch a Community Without These Two Things

When it comes to building a community (and establishing an online presence), there are two crucial steps I don’t recommend skipping. These two should be done as soon as possible and preferably before you launch to help generate buzz, grow your audience, and give people a sneak peek of what you’re building.

Here’s how to lay the groundwork for meaningful connections and sustainable growth:

  1. Set up a landing page: This is a game-changer. Having a landing page gives you a dedicated space to share your vision, tease what’s coming, and direct people to learn more. You can use @squarespace if you’re thinking about having a website right away or start with something like @stanforcreators and @maketheleap for something simpler.

  2. Build an email list: Once your landing page is live, use it to gather email addresses from people who want to stay in the loop. This is how you build your audience and a direct line to your future community members. This can be done by adding a form to your @squarespace landing page or a link to your @stanforcreators or @maketheleap link.

The best part? These steps set the stage for a smooth launch and are the foundation to the start of your community-building journey. Even if you don’t have everything mapped out yet, having these in place will make a world of difference when you’re ready to open to the doors to your community!
